Shirley and Spinoza Internet Radio.

Remember the first time you walked in on a friend who was listening to:

  • Jazz: Ornette Coleman
  • Classical: Barber
  • Boomer rock: "Revolution 9" on the Beatles (a.k.a. "the White album")
  • Hip-Hop: Brooklyn Bounce

  • ...and you asked your friend, "What is this noise?", and your friend whirled around with a dangerous glassy-eyed look and hissed "This is a work of effing genius!!!", and you were taken aback because you'd never heard a cuss word abbreviated like that before?

No? Go re-live your life and get back to this when you reach that part.

This station is like that all the time. Chinese parade marches to heavily-sampled Jeff Wayne to mid-1960s MOR to the Residents to a whole lotta noise. Lovin' it here. But I think it's scaring the kids.

    It is Haiku Day!
    May seventh, two thousand five!
    Poetry abounds!

    Write a few down.
Throw away the ones which suck.
    Journalize the rest.

    Europeans may
    Wait until the fifth July.
    Two months to compose.
