So, the Supreme Court fucked up. But the wording of their fuck-up was that Congress had the authority to persecute the sick because it had defined marijuana as a narcotic <cough/> without any medical uses.

There is already a bill before the House to change this. As recent polls suggest that 75% of Americans support chemo and other patients' use of marijuana, one would like to believe that passing this bill is a no-brainer. Unfortunately, too many Representatives are not representative of their constituents, having resided inside the Beltway for too long. They still think that flag-burning is an issue.

So tell them. NORML has set up this one-click Congress emailer, which will send copies to your Representative (based on your ZIP code) and modified copies to your Senator.

But don't stop there. Once you receive your copy of this email, print it out and physically mail it to your Congressthing. (The Senate mail can probably wait until the House bill is passed.)

Off your duffs. Do it now, kids.

[Edit:] HR 2087 has 36 co-sponsors, not including Barney Frank (D-MA). If your Representative is on this list, thank them for their co-sponsorship and ask them to prioritize getting this the hecque out of committee.
