On Saturday, September 29th, [livejournal.com profile] tamidon worked two events. I had the kids to myself all day long, so we took all the bottles and cans around the house to the redemption center, which also happens to be where I buy my beer. I wasn't intending to buy beer today, as my consumption rate has recently dropped dramatically, but I could justify picking up a 12-pack of Magic Hat Summer Sampler which was on sale ($9).

From there, we went to the nth annual housewarming at [livejournal.com profile] pale_chartreuse and [livejournal.com profile] be_well_lowell's place. We brought a trifle (dulce de leche custard and chocolate cake) that [livejournal.com profile] tamidon had made, and my younger instantly bonded with their son, and spent most of the day within four feet of him. Many other young kids were there. But this left [livejournal.com profile] alyveritya as the only kid in her age bracket. I'm afraid she did not handle this well.

Still, I got to see someone whom I hadn't seen in about twenty years (Shane from RPI), meet up with Crash for the first time since his (and [livejournal.com profile] penmillion's) son was born (tho neither mom nor baby attended), catch up briefly with [livejournal.com profile] sebastian_tombs and [livejournal.com profile] wren13 and Dale and Shelly.

The trifle was finished just before we ran out of energy and had to leave.

Getting home, I was about to exercize, when [livejournal.com profile] tamidon called to say that she was on her way home, and had a carload of leftovers from the events to unload. So I put pants back on, unloaded her car when she arrived, planned to watch the Red Sox until Torchwood started and then exercize afterward, then fell asleep on the couch during Torchwood (which, fortunately, we recorded). [livejournal.com profile] tamidon prodded me to accept fate, and I plodded off to bed.

65 minutes (song went overtime) )

Yesterday, [livejournal.com profile] be_well_lowell and I were talking about exercizing in general, and it seems that we have opposite problems: he has a hard time plowing thru his routine and getting a full hour in, while I have no problem doing that (modulo time and knee constraints). But he has no problem just doing his exercizing in the first place, while I (normally a creature of habit) still have to consciously think and plan to exercize at all (which does not come naturally to me).

Just a point to ponder.
