Last night, I watched Josh Beckett just shut down the Angels. To coin a cliche, he was awesome. He was ahead of most batters all night long (something which may not happen if he has to face them again this series, as too many of the Angels were just taking the first pitch for Strike 1), and he went all nine innings. Which is good, as Matsuzaka has shown that he either pitches long or very short lately, so we need the bullpen in good shape.

I was a bit worried in the first inning when we couldn't manage to bat in the guys on base (after Youk's homer), but the offense looked passable for the rest of the game. "Passable" may not work in the long run. But we may not have to run long.

I really want the Yankees and Indians to beat the heck out of each other, and for the Red Sox to mop up the Angels quickly (which would mean beating them in Anaheim, which is not something they've allowed many teams to do).

I am not worried in the slightest about any team from the Senior Citizen Circuit.
