I Still Have a Job
I still have a job, but 35 of my coworkers do not.
Yes, it's the economy. It's partially the credit crunch. It's also partly sales (or lack thereof).
A frustrating thing is that it's not quality of our product at fault. We're engineers; we could fix that.
But the high mucky-mucks assure us that the number of layoffs is as high as it is because they only wanted to do this once.
I expect morale to take a bit more of a hit here, but then level off and gradually start to rise. The uncertainty is gone.
But productivity for the afternoon is probably shot.
