Arisia 2009
Jan. 19th, 2009 03:28 pm...happened.
For the most part, I had a good time. I gave blood on Saturday, and felt some effects for doing so (which usually doesn't happen to me). But I went to several panels (which I only started doing in the last few years), and saw Repo: the Genetic Opera which kicks many forms of ass, several actually operatic. Then a few parties, which were awesome.
Sunday was more of a panel day than Saturday was, and I went to
shadesong and
kythryne's party to celebrate the publication of "Angel of Fremont Street". There is more coming from those two this year.
But at that party, I watched the snow dump on Boston with a vengeance. My heart sank, as I knew that my driveway would be impassable, and thus the kids and I would have to get home in time to dig out during daylight...
...only to find that my neighbor snowblowed the driveway for us while we were out. The whole driveway. We only had to shovel out the front steps, the back deck, and the nasty berm in front of the garage itself. I even managed to get rid of some of the icepack before coming in for a shower.
I'll do it again next year (where
s00j will be the musical guest of honor! w00t!).
