Andrew Sullivan Nails It

It was a hard decision; I had worked hard on the Gerald Ford campaign four years earlier, manning phone banks and driving elderly voters to the polls. But thanks to Reagan, the GOP shed its commitment to privacy and hijacked the abortion issue from the Democrats. That, and the neoconservative yammerheads that made up most of his cabinet were just plain frightening.
Now, conservative columnist Andrew Sullivan of the Atlantic explains why he is disassociating himself from "the conservative movement", even tho he (as I) truly is a conservative.
