Happy Beverly Hills Day!
Sep. 2nd, 2010 12:35 pmAt the end of my last post, I mentioned a pre-demo and a demo.
That did not happen. Instead, there was a mad scramble to package up almost-untested software onto rapidly scrounged hardware, a rare in-office visit from the consultant on this project, and the two of us putting in a 12-hour day to get the whole she-bang out the door for FedEx to deliver it to the Demonstrator at a military base. We will have more time to bring it up to release-worthiness if they like what they see.
I had to re-read that paragraph several times to make sure I didn't reveal any classified or company-confidential information. I am now certain that it contains neither.
But the fact that a huge portion of my work-day does deal with confidential information, and a smattering of it deals with classified information, really puts a damper on my posting here on a regular basis. Including my commute, that took up more than half of my day yesterday, and that includes the few hours I spent yesterday asleep.
So I feel less guilty for slacking off on posting before my New Month's Resolution. I frequently had good reasons for not posting. But not-posting became a habit.
And then this post degenerated into a meta-post, so I'm going to cut it off here.
