feste_sylvainSorry, folks, I know I still owe you the last couple days of the Chewonki trip, but I've stalled on the writing thereof. I would like to add, tho, that the Furry Cheeseballs wrote me a very nice thank-you note and gifted me with a Chewonki coffee mug. I was appreciated!
The less said about the Red Sox collapse, the better. Or not. I may write that up later.
But the notion I'd like to present to you is this: Retirement Community Marriages.
There is a social phenomenon happening, and will only accelerate as Baby Boomers start entering retirement communities in greater numbers, of people who find themselves partnerless late in life, and start to interact with their new social group. We see many cases of late-life marriages between people who wouldn't have given each other the time of day, or some who were even bitterly opposed on some issue, getting together because they are the only ones left who even care about the issue at hand. A common background overrides the particulars (especially as history has passed judgment on several of the issues by now).
That is the only way I have to explain this: touring America now, this double-bill: the Psychedelic Furs and the Tom-Tom Club!
