The Year in First Lines

Take the first line from the first entry from each month of 2005, and post it in your journal.

I don't do every meme that comes along the pipe, but I was curious about how mine would look:

1. I made my surgeon's jaw drop today.
   
2. Last week, I had my last visit with my surgeon.
   
3. Some Pabst Blue Ribbon was left behind at our Luau [1], and I realized that I've never drunk this beer legally, so my dismissal of it is based on old data at best.
   
4. As the meteorologists predicted, it's raining here today.
   
5. I took Adira to the Charles River May Day festivities today.
   
6. At a recent Event, one of the songs that came on during conversation was Abba's "Dancing Queen".
   
7. A few years ago, while tamidon was getting her first tatoo spiffed up in Rhode Island (because this was in the Dark Ages when Massachusetts still banned the practice), I took Alyssa wandering and we wound up in a coin shop.
   
8. This weekend, a conversation occurred in which several people (you know who you are, and some of you read my journal) spoke of Lauren Bacall in the past tense, i.e. they thought she was dead.
   
9. Wow. It appears that I haven't been updating my own journal recently.
   
10. In the universe of Serenity, there is a Great Power, and there are people who live on the fringes of the Great Power.
    
11. Many of Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito's former clerks are not conservatives.
    
12. I was going to resist the stupid squirrel-name meme.
