This morning, as I went to get my first cup of decaf, the coffee/copy station smelled tantalizingly of coffee cake. Someone had warmed a delectable-smelling pastry, but there were no signs of any around.
"Someone brought coffee cake, and they didn't leave us any."
But then I decided not to be petty. This was a conscious decision. Instead, I took the attitude, "Someone brought coffee cake, and left us this wonderful smell."
The contrast with people who microwave fish for lunch is palpable.
